LGD – Livestock Guardian Dogs
Working Great Pyrenees from TGIA Farms

Not pets. Not ornaments. Not backyard novelties.

LGD dogs are purpose-bred livestock guardians selected for instinct, structure, and stability. These dogs are raised with livestock and developed to patrol, deter predators, and bond to territory.

If you need a dependable guardian for goats, sheep, poultry, or cattle, you are in the right place.

If you are looking for a dog park companion, this is not the right fit.

What Makes LGD Different

Our dogs are bred for:

• Strong livestock bonding
• Calm, steady temperament
• Natural territorial instinct
• Sound structure and durability
• Independence with trainability

These dogs think for themselves. That is not a flaw. That is their job.

Raised with Purpose

Puppies are exposed to livestock early to strengthen imprinting. We focus on calm behavior around animals and discourage rough play. Early structure prevents future problems.

Optional foundational training is available for buyers who want a stronger start before bringing their guardian home.

Who This Dog Is For

Who This Dog Is Not For

Health & Genetic Testing
All breeding mothers on our farm have undergone comprehensive genetic testing through Wisdom Panel and are clear of all genetic variants tested, covering over 262 conditions.

For full transparency, new puppy owners are provided complete access to her 27-page Wisdom Panel report, allowing you to review the detailed results and lineage information firsthand.  We believe responsible breeding starts with health, knowledge, and openness.

Just ask, and we’ll send you the dam’s full Wisdom 27-page profile!

SOLD OUT! most recent litter was born on December 10, 2025, and has been raised hands-on in a true working livestock environment. All but one puppy has been placed with repeat farms, and we are now reaching out to our waiting list regarding the remaining male.

The purchase price is $500. Once contacted, a $150 deposit is required to reserve the puppy. The remaining $350 balance and pickup must be completed between February 6th and February 20th.

If you prefer the puppy to remain longer with the older guardian dogs to continue bonding and working, he may stay until April 1, 2026, for an additional $50 per week, paid in advance.

We are happy to provide additional photos or videos of him in his working environment. Due to recent extreme cold, the only photos we have were taken indoors during brief periods of exposure to other pets and young children!

Even through extreme temperatures, this pup has remained with the livestock and older guardian dogs 100% of the time, with the only exception being brief periods indoors for intentional exposure to other household pets and young children.  (Don’t worry – the whelping area was slightly heated to keep temperatures well above freezing for the pups’ first 3-4 weeks.) This balance helps build a confident, well-socialized livestock guardian without compromising bonding or instincts.

The sire is 100% Great Pyrenees, and based on the dam’s genetic testing, this puppy’s expected genetic makeup is approximately:

  • 76% Great Pyrenees
  • 24% Anatolian Shepherd Dog

The pups will be ready to transition to a new farm by about 8- 12 weeks of age, once foundational bonding and early development milestones are met.  This should be between February 6th – 20th.  If you have an older LGD to help with training, you are welcome to bring the pup home at 8 weeks, but should this be your first, we suggest leaving the pup an additional 2 – 3 weeks.  (Pups can stay up to 16 weeks  (April 1, 2026) for training for an additional fee of $50/week.)

This $150 deposit will reserve your pup, and final payment and pick up arrangements must be made within 48 hours.  (We apologize for this, but we have a LONG waiting list and we don’t want someone to miss out!  If you need more time, just call us before you make the deposit and we can try to work something out!)
